Clarification Requests

Clarification Requests

After a Tip is received, a Player who does not fully understand the guidance, has a concern, or needs something explained more clearly may send a one-time clarification message. This is a short, character-limited note asking the Coach to clarify specific points. Clarification is encouraged before leaving a low rating or review, or seeking a refund.

A Clarification Request follows the same flow as a Tip request. It appears in the Coach’s Tip Inbox on the “Clarification Requests” page. The Coach then has a single opportunity to reply with a written response that aligns with the original Tip. This reply should aim to make the instruction easier to apply, not to open a new conversation or change the scope. The process is not a chat.

Clarification protects both sides. Players get a fair chance to understand and act on the advice. Coaches can resolve misunderstandings without immediate impact on Ratings & Reviews or a move to Refunds & Cancellations. Clarification Requests contribute to Average Response Time.

Good requests stay focused on one point and reference the original guidance. For practical tips on writing clear, targeted messages, see What Makes a Great Request. For how clarification fits into the wider flow, see Clarification Process.
