Tone & Wording

Tone & Wording

The tone and wording of a Tip are as important as the technical advice itself. Players look for guidance that is clear, supportive, and simple to apply. A positive voice builds confidence and encourages action, making the Tip easier to follow.

Jargon or technical language should be avoided. Plain words are more effective because they can be understood and remembered without explanation. Keeping the message simple aligns with the principles in Delivering Great Tips.

Advice should always be framed constructively. Rather than dwelling on what went wrong, explain what the Player can do differently. One clear step, expressed directly, is more valuable than a list of corrections.

Each Tip should feel personal and respectful, as if the Coach were standing alongside the Player. If clarification is needed, the Clarification Process provides the correct path, rather than extending the exchange inside the Tip itself.

Ending with a short summary of the action to try next helps the Player retain and apply the guidance. Positive, straightforward wording also supports fair evaluation in Ratings & Reviews, ensuring the Player can connect the message with their progress.
