Best Practices for Clear Videos

Clear video makes it easier for Coaches to give accurate, helpful advice - and a smartphone is enough. Good, even lighting and a steady camera matter most. A friend filming on the course works well - otherwise a small tripod or phone clip on a stable surface is ideal. Landscape orientation is preferred, and digital zoom should be avoided so the picture stays sharp.

The most useful angles are side-on (face-on) and down-the-line. The frame should include the Player’s full body, the club and the ball from start to finish, with the camera level and roughly waist height. Standing far enough back prevents the follow-through being cropped, and a simple backdrop avoids distractions or heavy backlighting.

Recording one or two short clips (for example, one side-on and one down-the-line) - is usually enough. After filming, add a clear Tip Title and concise Issue Description so the Coach has immediate context - see Adding Context: Title & Issue Description. For upload steps and time limits, see How to Record & Upload. If filming is not practical or not needed, see Submitting Without a Video. For troubleshooting, visit Video Upload Issues.
