Clear communication is at the heart of effective coaching on
Elevate Golf. A Tip that is technically correct but poorly explained can leave
a Player confused, while a Tip that is simple, direct, and encouraging creates
confidence and action. Refining communication is therefore a continual process
for every Coach.
Strong communication begins with simplicity. Avoid
unnecessary jargon and focus on words that Players can understand and remember.
Short, direct sentences are easier to follow than long technical explanations.
Examples, comparisons, or simple cues can make advice stick.
Tone also shapes communication. Supportive language helps
Players stay motivated and open to feedback. Even when pointing out areas to
improve, framing the message positively ensures the Player sees a clear path
forward. This aligns with the importance of
Encouraging
Players and
Tone & Wording.
Refinement comes with practice. By reflecting on how Players
respond to Tips, and by observing which explanations lead to better reviews or
fewer clarifications, Coaches can sharpen their approach. Over time,
communication becomes more natural, efficient, and impactful.
By refining communication, Coaches not only deliver better
Tips but also strengthen trust and connection with Players, making each
interaction more valuable.
